Two blue and white porcelain pots from the Ca Mau cargo. China. Yongzheng period (1723-1735) Painted blue and white, decorated with figures in a landscape, from the Ca Mau cargo ship. The Ca Mau wreck refers to a cargo of Chinese porcelain sunk between 1723 and 1735 off the coast of Vietnam. The wreck, discovered by Vietnamese fishermen in 1998, was a junk bound from Canton to Batavia when it caught fire and sank. The vessel was carrying goods destined for Dutch merchants who had limited access to China and its ports. Size: 8 cm x 7.5 cm.
