Porcelain and earthenware with coats of arms (Série ax)
Since her early days in china, Dominique Perrin has always welcomed pieces bearing the coat of arms, whatever their condition. When he came across a cracked plate or a chipped cup, he would think: "What if all that's left is a testimony to this couple, this family, this château? It was an honor for him to offer them hospitality. It's the usual mistake of collectors to seek only the perfect object, and you'll find plenty of those here. If someone had kept the pieces of the Soissons vase, they would have passed on a unique object and the legend would have become reality. There is much dream in this heraldic heap, dreams that still carry the scent of a vanished world, that of salons where brilliant minds revealed themselves with grace, estates where the art of living was life itself. Host these stories and you'll never be ashamed.
