GRIGORIEV Boris (1886-1939). Farm in the countryside. Oil on canvas signed lower right, preserved in a modern giltwood frame. Good condition. Sight: H.: 46 cm - W.: 55 cm. Frame: H.: 67.5 cm - W.: 76.5 cm. Biography: Painter and draftsman Boris Grigoriev trained at the Stroganoff School in Moscow before continuing his studies at the Academy of Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. In the 1910s, he moved to Paris and became a member of the "Monde des Arts" society. In 1919, he emigrated to Belgium, then in 1920 to Paris, where a retrospective of his work was organized. Other retrospectives in Paris followed during his lifetime, notably in 1922, 1925, 1927, 1931 and 1933. During the 1920s, the artist produced illustrations in the United States and taught in Chile, but chose to settle in Cagnessur-Mer in 1927, where he died in February 1939.
