Bobbin lace border, Flanders, early 17th century. Van Dyck" type, finely worked with bobbins, decorated with rosettes and small scalloped motifs at the edges. Cream-colored linen, sewn on a mauve taffeta ribbon. Dim. lace: 200 cm x 9 cm (missing, flanges broken in places). Cf. p.24 pl.28a "The History of lace" Mrs Margaret Simeon.
