Two Cie des Indes plates, 1- serrated rim, richly decorated on the marli with gilded fillets, polychrome garland of foliage and flowers, and cartouches with Chinese bust, polychrome central arms with crest and cry of the British Brodie family (ca. 1750). Accents, old restoration with staples and fel, chips and splinters (diam: 22.5). 2 - smooth border with red edging, garland of flowers wrapped around the marli, polychrome central coat of arms, comtale crown and holding two small figures emerging from lambrequins. This service was commissioned around 1770 for Pierre-Louis de Langle de Cary, a ship's officer with the Cie des Indes (Lebel, p. 266). Good condition (diam.: 23 cm)
