Ecole russe du XVIIIe siècle Profile of Empress Catherine II of Russia (1729-1796), finely carved in ivory, representing the sovereign as a Minerva, bust on the right, dressed in a cuirass covered with scales and a mantle strewn with eagles, wearing a helmet topped by an owl, a plume and a crown of oak leaves, mounted on a red velvet background of rectangular shape. Made at the time of the accession to the throne of Catherine II in June 1762. Good condition. Time wear to the support. Sight : H. : 8 cm - W. : 4,5 cm. Frame : H. : 17,5 cm - W. : 13,5 cm
