Jean Cocteau (1889-1963), "Sa belle tante Marie", 1919 Folded fan, the sheet in strong gilded paper, mounted in English style, and decorated with a poem calligraphed in black ink: "On this mobile and frail and powdery sign/ Where the pink with the black marries Swings forever the love of Jean Cocteau For his beautiful aunt Marie". Monogrammed and dated on the right "JC 1919". Dumb reverse. Wooden frame painted in black and varnished. Metal hanger. H.t. 33,5 cm - H.f. 20,5 cm (cuts, restorations) N.B. : Marie Lecomte, sister of his mother, Eugénie. Cocteau has frequent links with her following the suicide of his father.
