Offerings to Hymen, ca. 1820-1830 Folded fan, the double sheet of paper engraved and enhanced with gouache of three young girls placing a quiver and doves on the altar of Love. The god Hymen presiding over the wedding watches them from a cloud. Reverse: two gardeners challenged by a man, in a frame evoking Spain. Black wood frame. The plumes are decorated with bone crosses and white mother-of-pearl plates. H.t. 21,5 cm - H.f. 12,6 cm (wear, restorations)
