The fish merchant, circa 1760 - Lot 112
The fish merchant, circa 1760 Folded fan, leather sheet lined with paper. In the centre, a merchant presents the day's catch of the day under the eyes of companions. On the left, a couple bickers happily, near a small flower merchant. The sides are richly decorated with fruits including pears, grapes and pomegranates, and a bird fight on the right opposing cock and peacock. On the other hand, a shepherd rests by a river and calls out to a laundress. Ivory* mount pierced and painted with three cartels decorated with fruits and birds, and in the center, characters in the countryside. On the reverse, repeat the line of the decorations on the face.H.t. 28.8 cm/ H.f. 14 cm (very good condition)
