Pair of mahogany veneered corner cabinets, the curved front opening onto a leaf adorned with an ormolu baguette frame. The uprights are straight. Resting on two tapered and fluted front legs decorated with ormolu asparagus, and a tapered and faceted rear leg. Gilt bronze ornamentation such as fillet frames, key escutcheons, corner falls, rings and sabots. White marble top. Louis XVI period, circa 1780. Each stamped C. TOPINO (Charles Topino, received master in 1773) and marked JME. H. 80 cm x W. 75 cm x D. 52.5 cm (Accidents, one hoof missing) Provenance : Sotheby's London, October 1997
