Palampore, India or Europe (?), first half of the 19th century, hanging made of two widths of cream cotton canvas, printed by mordanting and resist, decorated with gnarled trees in blossom, majestic peacocks and parrots, the sky filled with birds. Moire trompe-l'oeil border punctuated with poppies and blooming carnations, (a few light stains and small holes, mainly on the bottom of the center seam). 275 x 225 cm.
