BREGUET - Lot 45
BREGUET Pocket watch in 18K (750 thousandths) gold with quarter repeater, white enamel dial, railroad minute track. Black, black-painted Roman numerals, gilded hollowed-apple hand, small seconds at six o'clock. Hinged back in 18K (750 thousandths) gold, guilloché, enhanced with a decoration of initials added on an 18K (750 thousandths) white gold structure with fixed feet and set with old-cut diamonds. Back numbered 15580 and 8034. Case in 18K (750 thousandths) gold signed Breguet, numbered 3182. Pendent hand-wound mechanical movement, moustache anchor escapement, quarter repeater. Watch functional at time of appraisal, repeater partially functional and to be adjusted, with no guarantee of future operation or condition of parts. Scratches to the case, slight cracks to the enamel, repeater trigger probably replaced, back decoration added later. Watch no. 3182 was sold on June 28, 1858 to M.
