TABLE SERVICE OF EMPRESS CATHERINE II (1729-1793). Imperial Manufactory, St. Petersburg, Catherine II period. A slightly hollow plate in hard porcelain, with a scalloped rim, the marli decorated with a woven motif imitating basketwork, on which are painted three polychrome flowers, and the center decorated with a bouquet of polychrome flowers. Blue underglaze markings on reverse: EII (Catherine II), 1780-1896. Red markings on reverse above: ?.K. (court service). Weathered, as is. Diameter: 24 cm. History: this service was used at Empress Catherine II's table for daily meals in all her residences.
