NICOLAS, Prince of Greece (1872-1938). Briefcase, travel blotter, once belonging to the prince, leather cover, stitched edge, decorated in the center of the first cover with his monogram N (Nicolas) under an embossed royal crown, compartmented interior, containing a notebook of blotting sheets, on which appear drawings, inscriptions and signatures in the prince's hand, in-8° format (250x185 mm). Russian work from the late 19th century. Attached is a watercolor drawing on bristol board, showing two designs for tie pins with his monogram, made by Imperial Court jeweler Friedrich Köchli, St. Petersburg. Weathered, as is Biography: Prince Nicholas was the youngest son of King George I (born Prince of Denmark) and Grand Duchess Olga Constantinovna of Russia. In 1902, he married his cousin, Grand Duchess Helene Wladimirovna of Russia. Provenance : former collection of Prince Nicolas of Greece, then kept by direct descent.
