Valenciennes lace from Ghent, bobbins, Belgium, circa 1868-1880. Large document, probably cut from a vane stocking, in rare Valenciennes de Gand with patches, motifs without relief linked by a Valenciennes network of braided mesh, decorated with a large branch with blossoming flowers and cartouches adorned with various stitches. Cream-colored linen. Lace size: 62 x 50 cm (good condition). The Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels, formerly the Musée du Cinquantenaire, holds a similar piece in Valenciennes from Ghent, Inv. D 3877.
