Folded fan, needlepoint, late 19th century. The needlepoint lace leaf is decorated with double-row detached rose petals "Point de Rose" with pearl hearts and foliage, held in place by supple knotted ribbons, twigs and leaflets. Ivory-colored cotton. Blonde tortoiseshell* setting, bélière. H. frame: 24 cm, H. leaf: 15 cm (good condition, some slight foxing). * Tortoiseshell: Specimens made from the scales of marine turtles, Cheloniidae spp (I/A-CE), so-called pre-convention specimen prior to 01/06/1947 (EC regulation 338/97 of Dec. 9, 1996 art. 2 -W mc).
