Two wide borders, Brussels, spindles, circa 1700. A wide border or "bas d'aube", freely symmetrical motifs of small palms, stylized flowers and leaves, and cartouches decorated with various stitches, linked by fine picoté flanges. Cream linen, mounted on black silk. Dim. 2.85 m x 31 cm (good overall condition, a few broken bridles, a tear, a seam). A very finely crafted border, decorated à la Bérain in symmetry with bouquets of flowers and cartouches adorned with various stitches, linked by fine picoté bridles. Dark ivory linen, Dim. 88 cm x 20 cm (stains, a few tears at beginning and end of length) Former Riete Alkema collection
