Rare Milan lace panel with ecclesiastical motifs, spindles, Italy, late 17th century. Large panel or altar frontal probably commissioned for the ordination of a bishop or cardinal, decorated with four large ecclesiastical hats surmounted by a shell and a cord with eight tassels on either side, alternating with a miter and a church with a large portal and belfries between two campaniles. Cartouche with heart pierced by arrows, symbolizing the Virgin Mary. Ivory linen. (good condition, small stains and restorations). Dim. 3.30 m x 80 cm
