Rose Stitch and Coraline borders, needlework, Italy, last quarter of the 17th century. A very finely crafted rose-stitch border decorated with branches and sprays of various flowers and foliage, some of the flowers worked thicker with delicate picot embellishments, the motifs linked by fine ringed and picot flanges, dark ivory-colored linen, Dim. 85 x 6.5 cm (good condition, some old restoration, lower border sewn up and 20 cm missing). A Coraline border with fine leafy twigs linked by picoté flanges, creamy-white linen, Dim. 85 x 8.5 cm (washed)
