Two bobbin laces, Flanders or Italy, early 17th century. A finely worked lace border with rosettes and small festoons at the edges, well representative of this technique in this period. Ivory-colored linen, Dim. 1.25 m x 13 cm (good condition, a few discreet restorations). Cf. "The History of lace" Mrs Margaret Simeon, p.24 pl.28a. And a linen made of thread hemmed with a very finely worked bobbin lace with laces adorned with a stylized motif. Dim. 55 cm x 55 cm laid flat, lace height: 4.5 cm (good condition, washed). We enclose a 19th-century linen collar with needlepoint inlays, hemmed with bobbin lace, 17th century ? Former Riete Alkema collection
