Bronze plaque decorated with the Immaculate Conception Conception decoration; bélière. Mary, haloed by seven stars, stands with clasped hands. The Franciscan eight-knot cord surrounds the scene. Spain, circa 1600 H.: 11 cm - W.: 6.8 cm (traces of silver plating) The distribution of this plate enabled its model to be used to decorate mortars, notably by the Franc-Comtois foundryman known as le Maître de la Crucifixion, active in the second quarter of the 17th century.
