Georges JACOB (1739 - 1814) Suite of eight dining room chairs in antique gray lacquered beech, resting on four console legs decorated with acanthus leaves, the seat and back in a horseshoe shape adorned with fleurons. H.: 92.5 cm - W.: 49 cm - D.: 46 cm Louis XVI period, circa 1770- 1775. Upholstered in red wool velvet (Reinforcements, restorations, small dents on one). A suite of 12 chairs of the same model delivered for the Comte d'Artois at the Château de Maison circa 1777-1779. (Archives nationales code R1 315 to R1 335), another in the Château de Fontainebleau (inv. F847.C), another in the Musée des Arts Décoratif. (inv. 23788) Georges Jacob mastered on September 4, 1765
