Vase with celadon crackle glaze, globular body with high str - Lot 457
Vase with celadon crackle glaze, globular body with high straight neck flared at the opening, rich finely chased and gilded bronze mounting with rocaille decoration, two handles decorated with reeds. H.: 42.5 cm - L.: 24.5 cm China 18th century. (vase pierced, hair, some traces of oxidation) Our vase illustrates the appeal of the Far East and the creativity of the Mercier merchants, who set beautiful Chinese porcelain in precious gilded bronze mounts. The mounting can be compared with works by Jean-Claude Duplessis, le Père (1695 - 1774).
