Chased ormolu clock with a rich decoration of acanthus leaves, plant garlands and flowering foliage. The white enamelled dial, with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, is surmounted by an antique-style urn holding a garland of foliage. Dial signed Henry Voisin Louis XVI period H.: 45 cm - W.: 36 cm - D.: 15 cm (Worn patina and missing glass) Also known as Antoine-Henri Voisin (1733-1815), he was one of the most important Parisian watchmakers of the second half of the 18th century. Some of his creations are mentioned by leading Parisian connoisseurs, such as the clocks inventoried at the home of Madeleine-Françoise-Louise-Elisabeth de Lorraine princesse de Marsan.
