Two covered baluster vases on pedestals in chased and patinated bronze, decorated with grained laurel branches and lion's head. Pine cone-shaped handle. H. 39 cm and 38 cm Italian work in the taste of Luigi Valadier, attributed to Francesco Righetti ( 1749 - 1819) Francesco Righetti (1749-1819) was one of Rome's most prolific sculptors, goldsmiths and bronzemakers in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He apprenticed in the workshop of Luigi Valadier (1726-1785) and succeeded him as director of the Vatican foundry in 1805.
