Small in-between chest of drawers in European varnish, curved form opening to two drawers without crosspiece. Stiles and waistband with movement. Breche marble top. Louis XV period, stamped by François Reizell, received master in 1764 and JME. The front and sides are sinisterly decorated with architectural lakescapes and scenes of daily life. Ornamentation of rocaille bronzes such as lock escutcheons and sabots. H. 83 cm - W. 76.5 cm - D. 41 cm (missing, restored) Of German origin, François-Etienne Reizell settled in Paris and in 1764 became appointed cabinetmaker to Louis-Joseph de Bourbon, VIII Prince de Condé. François Reizell produced several pieces of furniture for the Châteaux of Chantilly, Vilgenis and the Palais Bourbon in Paris. His clients also included the Prince de Revel, the Marquise de La Fayette and the Duc de Luynes.
