Large violoné wall-mounted cartel and console in gilt bronze - Lot 184
Large violoné wall-mounted cartel and console in gilt bronze and green horn veneer. The white enameled dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, signed Boussot de Ville-Neuve in Paris and set in a chased gilt bronze frame. The case is in green horn and openwork glass, topped by a draped female figure in gilded bronze. The dial is surrounded by foliage. The lower part features Janus bifront holding the keys, resting on a shell and surrounded by foliage. The console, also plated with green horn, is adorned with ormolu scrolls. The movement is signed Boussot de Ville-Neuve Paris. Louis XV period H.: 86 cm (126 cm with the console) - L.: 43 cm - D.: 15 cm P. 21.5 cm (Worn gilding and traces of oxidation)
