Toothpick box, oblong shape, in 916e gold and blue enamel guilloché with strip decoration, the white enamel frames punctuated with foliage frieze. Engraved on the throat "Du petit Dunkerque". Paris, last quarter of the 18th century. Master goldsmith's mark JD. H.: 1.4 cm; L.: 9.1 cm; W.: 2.6 cm Gross weight: 70.3 g (Slight accidents and missing enamel) Au petit Dunkerque is a sign of the merchant Charles- Raymond Granchez, established until 1761 in Dunkerque. In Paris, he opened a store at 3 quai de Conti, where he sold objets d'art and curiosities. He enjoyed great success there, and became Queen Marie-Antoinette's jewelry merchant in 1774.
