A cylindrical case with a wooden core covered in chased and gilded chagrin leather decorated with an archiepiscopal coat of arms in silver, a chevron in azure, accompanied in chief by two boar's heads in sinople and in base by a hound's head in the same style, all proper, crest with mitre, crozier and hat with four rows of tassels, rosettes and richly ornamented friezes; cut brass hinge, hooks and lock plate; silk-lined interior. 18th century L.: 53.3 cm (small accidents and wear) The arms on this travel case are those of Bishop Guillaume de Boux (1621-1693). He used it to carry his prayer cushion to complement his faldistoire or prie-Dieu.
