In-12 (134 x 79 mm). Letterpress mark on title page, woodcut fleuron, headbands, initials and endpapers. ã12 a-z12 A-B12 (without blank B11 and B12) : (12)-298 ff, a1r-B10r folioed 1-294 [sic for 298]. BINDING SIGNED DAVID. Red morocco, gilt decoration, triple fillet framing, highly ornate gilt ribbed spine, gilt edges. PROVENANCE: Henri Herluison bookshop, Orléans (label). USTC 1724 -- Brunet III, 549-550: "jolie édition, peu commune" -- Tchemerzine, III, p. 760 -- J. P. Barbier, Ma Bibliothèque poétique, III, n° 69, pp. 402-404 -- Thiébaud, 520. Small angular stain on first few leaves. Jodelle "deserves a place in hunting literature for his long Ode de la chasse, addressed to King Charles IX" (Thiébaud). The poem can be found on leaves 272-285 of this edition.
