One of only a few copies on large vellum paper. 3 original lithographs by Victor Adam on chine appliqué (Thiébaud requires 4 lithographs, but Souhart only 3, as in the original 1828 edition. Copies of this second edition are most often found with 3 lithographs). SIGNED BINDING BY CHAMPS-STROOBANTS. Green morocco spine gilt and corners, gilt head, cover and spine preserved, some witnesses. PROVENANCE: unidentified bookplate with the initials "JD" and the motto "Venari non est occidere". Thiébaud, 200 -- Schwerdt, I, 110 (for the 1828 edition) -- Souhart, 102. Minor scattered foxing, tiny restored tear on front cover.
