Marbled calf, gilt decoration, arms in the center of the boards, spine ribbed and decorated, speckled edges. Fragile hinges. Nicolas de Bonnefons was the King's valet and author of a famous gardening work entitled Le Jardinier françois (1651), which has been reprinted several times. According to Thiébaud, Traité de chasse first appeared in the fifth edition of Délices de la campagne (1673), a small rural encyclopedia written by Bonnefons.
