The last copy offered for sale (Bernis-Du Verne copy) was from an earlier edition than this one, bearing the title Faulcon damours, but was incomplete by two leaves. The preface notes the allegorical significance of this text, which alternates verse and prose, likening it to courtly love: "par le faulconnier ientens le gentil homme amoureux & par le faulcon la gente damoyselle dame en amours".
