Hiroshi Kaizuka (1938-2023) - Lot 298
Hiroshi Kaizuka (1938-2023) Nekkyū sanka, original plate. India ink, watercolor, gouache on paper. Phylacteries printed and pasted. 36x26 cm. Hiroshi Kaizuka started out as an employee of the Railway Administration Bureau, but resigned six months later to pursue his passion for manga. Like many at the time, he made his debut in rental manga in 1957 with the title "The Beggar and the Lord". In 1958, he exploded onto the scene with "Kuri-kuri Pitcher", published by Shueisha. For several decades, he produced manga on sports and military arts. He is recognized as a "hot-blooded" mangaka, who knows how to speak to young people. This panel is taken from the manga "nekkyū sanka", which translates as "The ode to the boiling ball" (the baseball, of course). Published from 1978 to 1980.
