Hiroshi Kaizuka (1938-2023) - Lot 297
Hiroshi Kaizuka (1938-2023) Nekkyū sanka, double-page chapter opener. India ink and screen on paper. 27x38 cm. Hiroshi Kaizuka starts out as an employee of the Railway Administration Bureau, but resigns six months later to pursue his passion for manga. Like many at the time, he made his debut in rental manga in 1957 with the title "The Beggar and the Lord". In 1958, he exploded onto the scene with "Kuri-kuri Pitcher", published by Shueisha. For several decades, he produced manga on sports and military arts. He is recognized as a "hot-blooded" mangaka, who knows how to speak to young people. This panel is taken from the manga "nekkyū sanka", which translates as "The ode to the boiling ball" (the baseball, of course). Published from 1978 to 1980.
