BILAL, Enki (b. 1951) - Lot 101
BILAL, Enki (b. 1951) Légendes d'aujourd'hui, La ville qui n'existait pas, plate 32. India ink on paper, signed, framed. Dimensions (as seen) 49.5x35.5 cm. The third part of a triptych written by Pierre Christin, La ville qui n'existait pas is a fantastic social fable set in a mining town in crisis. Published in 1977 by Dargaud in the Histoires Fantastique collection, this story allows Bilal to demonstrate his graphic prowess in black and white and narrative construction, while exploring some of his favorite themes: the vision of the city, fantasy, the relationship with history and modernity.
