Large folded fan in Chantilly bobbin lace, late 19th century. The leaf in Chantilly bobbin lace with bouquets of roses and florets in a frame of blossoming flowers supported by a garland of foliate scrolls, silk lining, brown tortoiseshell* mount and clasp, elegantly intricate monogram in vermeil on the main sprig. H. mount: 35.5 cm, H. leaf: 21.5 cm (very good condition, a few small stains on the back of the lining, local wear to the gilding on the monogram). In black satin box. * Scale: Specimens made from the scales of marine turtles, Cheloniidae spp (I/A-CE), so-called pre-convention specimen prior to 01/06/1947 (EC regulation 338/97 of Dec. 9, 1996 art. 2 -W mc).
