Large applique ruffle from England, circa 1860-80. - Lot 326
Large applique ruffle from England, circa 1860-80. Three-cut ruffle in a never-used pattern, each with about ten centimeters of unpatterned tulle at each end, with floral decoration in bobbin lace inlaid in mechanical tulle, bouquets of blooming roses and foliage supported by a supple river of modes with small leaves, blooming roses festooning the border, flower hearts and rivers of needlepoint modes. Dim. 3.80 + 2.90 + 1.30 m = 8 m x 39 cm, without the tulle at the ends (good condition, a few spots or foxing in places) Provenance: Pyckede ten Aerden and le Fevere de ten Hove families, and by descent.
