The boat on the beach, Italy, circa 1900 - Lot 237
The boat on the beach, Italy, circa 1900 Folded fan, the double skin sheet painted with a vast panorama of a sandy beach on which rests a ship with sails raised. It is named "Nini". Two children are playing nearby. On the right, a coat of arms on a naval anchor. The coats of arms appear to be related, among others, to those of the Italian Brignole family. Signed on the left. The reverse is painted with the initial "M" on a gold background among anemones, narcissi and roses. Beautifully mounted in blond tortoiseshell, the enriched plume recalls the family coat of arms. Bélière. H.t. 32 cm-H.f. 20 cm (restoration, stain) In a floral paper-covered box bearing under the lid the address of the Parisian fan maker "Alouïse Van de Voorde".
