The marriage of Raimondin and Mélusine? France, circa 1840 Folded fan, the double sheet lithographed with parrots and loves. In the center, nymphs carrying garlands of flowers and censers emerge from a wood to celebrate a couple. Both are crowned, before a radiant sun. The depiction may evoke the story of the union between the legendary Mélusine and Lord Raimondin, whom she made rich and powerful. Reverse: family gathering in a park, in the 18th century style. Mounted in pierced bone, engraved and gilded with leaves and flowers. The plume features an oval mirror. Bélière. H.t. 27 cm-H.f. 10.5 cm (wear, restorations)
