Juno and Jupiter, Europe, circa 1750 Rare folded fan, the painted paper sheet of the Olympian gods reunited on a cloud. Juno and Jupiter are illuminated by the sun. They are visited by a young woman, Psyche, surrounded by loves, some with butterfly wings, who encircle her with garlands of flowers. On both left and right, a young woman is depicted surrounded by loves and garlands of flowers. On the reverse, Venus and Love on their chariot, between a young woman and a soldier in armor. Rare and original cut, pierced, engraved and gilded ivory mount, with baluster-shaped strands decorated with vases, flowers and country trophies. H.t. 24.5 cm - H.f. 9.8 cm In its original sharkskin-style paper-covered box.
