Rocaille, Europe and China, circa 1730-1740 Folded fan, the leaf in skin, mounted in English, and painted with gouache of a young woman in front of her work table, observed by a shepherd tending his sheep. The reverse is painted with floral scrolls. Mounted in engraved and gilded pierced ivory with white mother-of-pearl decoration of birds among flowers. H.t. 29 cm-H.f.16,7 cm
