The wedding of Louis XV and Marie Leczinska, France, circa 1725 A rare broken-bone fan, a historical souvenir, celebrating the marriage of the King of France, Louis XV, to Marie Leszczynska in 1725. Fourteen gilded, embossed paper portraits of the bride and groom are set on consoles and surmounted by the royal crown. Only the portrait of the King of France in the center is surmounted by a radiant sun. The plumes are crudely engraved with scallops and crosses. The center of the throat is painted with a couple and flowers. Height 24 cm (wear, small missing parts)
