Grapes, peonies and bird, Japan, circa 1900 Folded fan, double sheet of paper engraved and stencilled with bunches of grapes, peonies and a bird, possibly a Japanese nightingale. Reverse: view of houses in the countryside. Black lacquered bamboo frame. The plumes are enhanced by red lacquer decoration in relief with flowers. The closed fan has a zigzag pattern on the field. H.t. 29.5 cm-H.f. 16.9 cm (wear, restorations)
