Kite, China, 19th century Folded fan, the double silk sheet densely painted with 70 figures gathered on palace terraces opening onto gardens. One side on a purple background, with a kite rising into the sky, and the other on a silver background around dancers and a rider. Finely beveled ivory mount engraved with figures in bamboo gardens. The plumes are carved in the thickness. Metal clasp and silk tassel. H.t. 27.9 cm-H.f. 12 cm (very good condition) In a black lacquered bamboo box with gold decoration.
