Green and gold, China, 19th century Folded fan, the double sheet in painted paper of forty figures gathered on the terraces of pavilions opened by terraces. All wear silk garments in relief and a head in relief. The reverse is painted on a silver background with five cartels depicting pheasants among flowers, four figures on terraces and a river view in the center. Bone mount, carved, engraved, green-tinted and gilded, decorated on both sides with approximately 30 figures in lively gardens of pavilions shaded by willow-grass and bamboo. The green lacquered bamboo plumes are decorated in gold. Metal clasp and silk tassel. H.t. 28.5 cm-H.f. 9.5 cm (wear, restorations)
