Wedding chest in wood and bone marquetry over rosewood and burr veneer, decorated on all sides with floral scrolls in reserves. The top is decorated with a vase with richly flowered gadroons and surmounted by a grotesque head. Mid 18th century. (Damage to the veneer and slight missing parts). Height _x001e_: 12.5 cm - Length _x001e_: 58 cm - Width _x001e_: 45 cm Our chest features an inlaid decoration inspired by the work of André Charles Boulle, but also close to the work of Aubertin Gaudron, cabinet-maker to the crown's garde meuble. These compositions are inspired by the paintings of flower painter Jean Baptiste Monnoyer.
