L'Amour au théâtre français, France, circa 1760-1770 Folded fan, the double sheet in wallpaper of a country scene. Wearing the attributes of Bacchus, a man extends his hand to a young man. A damsel observes them, while another dances with a companion. The subject is borrowed from "L'amour au théâtre français" by Watteau (1684-1721). Sunset landscape with a hunter. Beautiful and original cut-out white mother-of-pearl mount, engraved and gilded with bases, smoking pots and column effects. H.t. 26 cm-H.f. 11 cm (restorations, small missing parts)
