Gun-Sen, Japan, 19th century Rare Japanese "Gun-Sen" war fan, with double paper leaf. Both sides decorated with a red sun on a black background. Steel frame with two imposing plumes decorated with a plant garland. One plume features engraved calligraphy on the inside, indicating the name of the Japanese craftsman, a sword maker.
