HOT-CLUB DE FRANCE: Association founded in 1932 by two Parisian students, Elwyn Dirats and Jacques Aux enfants. It was the first organization to promote jazz music. Hugues Panassié, Pierre Nourry, Jacques Bureau, Pierre Gazères and Charles Delaunay were the first members of the board of directors and the first organizers in 1933. Hugues Panassié was the first president of the Hot-Club de France from its creation until his death on December 8, 1974. Charles Delaunay created the Swing record label in 1937 and was one of the three founders of the Vogue label in 1947. Since 1936, the Hot-Club de France has awarded prizes for the best jazz records and books published during the year. The Hot-Club de France has awarded prizes to many of today's jazz legends: Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Django Reinhardt, Lionel Hampton... as well as French jazz musicians: Stéphane Grappelli, Hubert Rostaing, Alix Combelle, Claude Bolling...
A set of books featuring all the monthly bulletins from the famous HOT-CLUB DE FRANCE: 22 volumes for bulletins 1 to 220 (1950 to 1972) - 9 volumes for bulletins 221 to 343 (1972 to 1986) - 2 volumes for bulletins 344 to 375 (1987 to 1989) - 3 volumes for bulletins 376 to 420 (1990 to 1993) and 2 volumes for bulletins 421 to 442 (1994 to 1995). A total of 38 volumes. A highly sought-after leather-bound collection.
